At Olive and Tallow LLC ("Olive & Tallow"), we believe that handcrafted skincare should be made with integrity, transparency, and thoughtfully selected ingredients. Every product is handcrafted in small batches using traditional methods and carefully chosen natural ingredients. Please read the following information before purchasing or using our products.
Cosmetic Products Only
Unless expressly stated otherwise, all products sold by Olive & Tallow are cosmetic products intended solely for external personal care use. Our products are not drugs or medical devices.
The statements made on this website have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.
Any information provided on this website is offered for educational and informational purposes only and should not be interpreted as medical advice. Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified healthcare professional regarding medical concerns or skin conditions.
Individual Results May Vary
Every person's skin is unique. Skin type, allergies, environmental conditions, lifestyle, medications, and individual sensitivities may affect how a product performs. Because of these individual differences, Olive & Tallow cannot guarantee identical results for every customer.
Patch Testing
Before using any new skincare product, we strongly recommend performing a patch test. To perform a patch test:
- Apply a small amount of product to the inside of your forearm.
- Leave the area undisturbed for approximately 24 hours.
- If redness, itching, burning, swelling, or irritation develops, discontinue use immediately.
Do not continue using any product that causes irritation.
Allergies & Ingredient Responsibility
Customers are responsible for reviewing each product's ingredient list before purchasing. Our products may contain ingredients including, but not limited to:
- Grass-fed beef tallow
- Beeswax
- Essential oils
- Botanical infusions
- Herbs
- Plant oils
- Seed oils
- Nut-derived oils
- Natural clays
- Natural colorants
- Botanical extracts
If you have known allergies, sensitivities, or medical concerns regarding any ingredient, please consult your healthcare provider before using our products.
Pregnancy & Nursing
Some products may contain essential oils or botanical ingredients that may not be appropriate for everyone. If you are pregnant, nursing, planning to become pregnant, or receiving medical treatment, consult your physician or qualified healthcare professional before using products containing essential oils or botanical extracts.
Children
Our products should be kept out of reach of young children. Adult supervision is recommended whenever children use any personal care product. Products are not intended to be used as toys.
External Use Only
Unless specifically indicated otherwise:
- For external use only.
- Avoid contact with eyes.
- Do not apply to deep wounds or severely irritated skin.
- Do not ingest.
- If accidental ingestion occurs, seek appropriate medical advice.
If irritation develops, discontinue use immediately.
Handmade Product Variations
Every Olive & Tallow product is handcrafted in small batches. Because we use natural ingredients, each product is unique. Variations may occur in color, scent, texture, botanical appearance, swirl pattern, shape, and overall appearance. These natural variations reflect the handmade nature of our products and are not considered defects.
Natural Ingredients
We intentionally use naturally derived ingredients whenever possible. Natural ingredients may change slightly over time due to seasonal variations, harvest conditions, botanical differences, curing, exposure to light, and natural aging. These changes do not necessarily indicate a reduction in product quality.
Product Storage
To maximize product life, we recommend storing products in a cool, dry location, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat, with lids securely closed when applicable, and away from standing water. Handmade soap should be allowed to dry completely between uses to extend its lifespan.
Heat-Sensitive Products
Some products contain natural butters, waxes, and tallow that may soften or melt when exposed to high temperatures. If your order arrives affected by heat during shipping, please contact us within five (5) calendar days of delivery. Products left unattended after delivery, including in mailboxes, vehicles, or direct sunlight, are the responsibility of the customer.
Product Shelf Life
Because our products are handcrafted using natural ingredients and contain fewer synthetic preservatives than many commercial products, we recommend using them within the suggested timeframe indicated on the product packaging or product listing. Store products properly to help maintain their quality.
Product Misuse
Olive & Tallow is not responsible for damages or adverse reactions resulting from improper storage, misuse, failure to follow directions, failure to review ingredient lists, use despite known allergies, or use inconsistent with the intended purpose of the product.
Pet Products
Products intended for companion animals are cosmetic grooming products only. They are for external use only, are not veterinary medications, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. If irritation develops, discontinue use immediately. If your pet has an existing medical condition, open wounds, severe skin irritation, or persistent symptoms, consult a licensed veterinarian before using any product.
